hey guys, my rats have been itching alot today and yesterday. me thinks they may have fleas or mites. My dogs are ok, not a thing on them. what can i use to treat the rats? i clean the cage out 1-2 times a week and dont understand where they have got the itchies from! looks like little tiny red dots, just a few on each rat. all advice appreciated

my rats had them. if you go into your local pet store you can find mite killer which is used with rabbits and guinea pigs. its a little strong for them so use a smaller amount than suggested then comb them through and all the mites should just die and you and comb them off and get rid of them.

You can also use a small bit of Frontline flea spray

garlic may also work, but rats may tend to lick that off!
