I have my two female hamsters in the same cage.

How long should I keep them together do you think????

I keep my male seperately.

I also have a group 2.3 of Roborovski hamsters.

I have actually got two female syrians in together.
It's not the norm but they are great together and seem to be happy to litter together as well. It may be that they have been together since the younger one was born I don't know.
I also know of people who are keeping males and females together and they are also littering no problems.

I just wondered what advice I would get about it though!!!!!!

not all animals are typical of the breed you can have some exceptions to the rules

so nothing can be ruled out with them really

even though they are supposed to be solitary dosnt mean all of them wanna be i suppose

With my two girls it's probably because they are mother and daughter and have never been parted.

I just thought I'd trial it as others had said they did it.
If they ever do show any aggression I'll seperate them.

Mind you the damn robo's refuse to breed!!!!!
They are of breeding age, in a 2.3 group and have plenty of room.
I was told that kept at a cooler temp they will breed happily so they are in the shed. Still no babies.

They were born early this year though so may not breed until next Spring as they normally breed the first Spring the year 'after' the does were born!!!!

When I'm growing on my baby rodents I have them in a mixed species tank.

I have had mutli's, mice and gerbils together until around 3 months old but not had syrians in with them as yet.
I've not had problems but I don't keep them together beyond 3 months.
