it was illegal a long time ago unless it was for medical or proffessional reason ie they were a working dog and could catch their tail (crock of
that is) luckily they are getting tighter on the dodgy vets who still do it and the home dockers.Mine will not be docked and i want to see both parents and go for a walk with parents and pup |

Indeedy. I have an (undocked) cocker spaniel... I love her long tail, tis halarious. My grandparents have two: one docked, as it was done automatically by the breeder, and one not, as they bred her them selves

They do get over their recall problems - it's just a play thing but you can't 'assert yourself' over a dog thats 100 yards away. Good positive training is what's needed. I'm going back a few years but a dobe won the Crufts obedience championships once and if I remember rightly the owner lost the dog later on because it ran off. He was an old school trainer too. |
