ok so i know this is going to sound a bit stupid but i am becoming very concerned about it my dog had her season a few months ago and has been out of it for quite a while now but she keep humping my other dog and although this itself however embarasing may not seem a huge problem my other dog DOESNT like it and a 5kg pomeranian again a 26kg labrador shes gonna wind up very hurt but i just dont know what to do to help i dont entirely understand why she is doing it? I intend to let her have 1 maybe 2 litters of pups before i get her spayed however if this persists i will have to get her done sooner for her own safety does anyone have any ideas of how i can get her to stop? or why shes doing it?

its a dominance thing

what you would call small dog syndrome

because she is so much smaller than the lab she is making her dominance seen by humping

all of mine do this too embarrassing it can be but its something that happens when you have more than one dog

we always had 2 dogs though and this has NEVER happened and its like ud think shed go after the male not the female lab? but the lab REALLY went for her today shes had to have stitches which is why im so concerned about it as shes still gone at it again stupid lil dog

sounds like a dominance thing for sure if she is still going at it even though she has been hurt

there are difusers that you can get from the vets and also collars that are supposed to have a calming effect on dogs and cats they let pheromones out that of a nursing cat or dog

maybe you could try that and see if it calms her slightly

i shall have words with the vet when she has her stitches out this lil dog thinks shes invinsible u know we took her out when she was in season and a BIG male Rottie came and she actually went and presented herself!!!! was like AMBER u'll get smooshed!

my sisters lil JRT is the same she whoops my dogs arses and they dont know whats hit em she is that fast and just flys through their legs LOL

Neutering doesnt always help either, my youngest (bitch) humps the top dog (dog), they are both neutered but she still does it, it seems to be an excitement thing with her though, when she knows its dinner or when it times to go for a walk. She started to do it after her first season and the vet said it was just hormones and that spaying her was the solution, well she was spayed in February as she still does it! lol She is submissive to him though, takes no for an answer so dont think its dominance.

I can recommend DAP diffusers though!!

Dominance has nothing to do with sex. It isn't sexual. You need to have her spayed and the problems will cease.
