Default Runny Babbit's......

lol, or Bunny Rabbit's (the title is what my niece calls them)
anyway my dear dear fella bought me one home today, which i will be keeping as a house rabbit, never had a house rabbit before so are they easy to train etc? dunno what breed he/she is but is 5 weeks old and is rather huge for 5 weeks but apparently the mum had disowned them as the lady who owned the mum said she had been nesting again which must be why she rejected them. got my citronella oil for cats peeing in silly places, to repel flies, as a natural fly spray and as a natural flea deterrent, so will burning this oil harm him/her in any way?
all advice etc very very welcome as last time i had a bunny i was living with parents.

I'm attaching a link to an article on a website written by a friend of mine who started the British Houserabbit Society when she came back from America years ago having discovered that most Americans keep their rabbits in the house.

I first met Linda some 15 years ago when I went to visit her to meet her Suffolk Gold houserabbit called Jaffa. I'd lost my dwarf cashmere lop and a friend mine who worked with Linda suggested I might like a Sussex Gold and so I went to meet Jaffa.

Linda had a cage for him which he was put into when she was at university and then when she came home he was allowed free running. He used a litter tray (very easy to train rabbits to use litter trays - my lop trained herself to use the cat's up in the bathroom!), he was encouraged to eat baskets and not wood and he was a fantastic rabbit. The main thing is to cover electrical wires, cos rabbits will chew!!

The article was written way back in 1996 and Jaffa is now long gone, but the principles are there to tell you how to go about keeping a rabbit in the house, but have a read of it and it should tell you all you need to know.

RWAF: So you think you want a houserabbit?
