Default Enclosure size.

Im toying with the idea of getting a carrion crow, a few Q's.
-Is it best to keep them solo or in pairs?
-What age is best?
-We have a good site fro an enclosure, what size is best? for one crow or if they need to or should be kept in pairs two., many thanks! I know its not a decision not be taken lightly and that is why i am asking these Q's before establishing whether i want one, i am also aware of the laws and if i do get one i would get captive bred.

Dw. We have a sheltered barn that has a mainly open end with a concrete base, so light would get in but it would have a flat base to make a stable enclosure. In feet or metres i dont mind.

I wouldn't keep any animal singly unless it was solitary by nature and crows are not . If you can get a pair I would get a pair. Can't help with enclosure sizes sorry but if you find a breeder, you could ask them what they recommend.

OK. I was thinking a pair too, as they like to play about together, can anyone recommend a breeder ( i would get CB of course) so i can ask a few Q's. I've emailed corvid aid but no response. ANy good bird forums that might help?

TBH I think your best bet will be to buy a copy of 'cage and aviary birds' which comes out on a Thursday. There may be breeders of corvids listed in there as there usually are. It's the first place I would look if I wanted to buy corvids.

Corvid Aid | Corvid and wildlife rescue

The forum is good i asked on there and got some good advice. Try googling it, there is some good sites but i had to search for a while and trawl through the crap, typical google really. Corvid aid has some good info on feeding and also if you get in contact they can maybe help you find orpahaned birds? They can be quite expensive to buy but there are places to get captive bred corvids.

I want a jackdaw at some point and tbh i'd rather have an orphaned one than a captive bred one but that's just me. I would ideally love a raven one day . I did have more stuff saved in my favourites but i deleted it all ages ago. But the info i found was on google by putting in captive corvids, corvid care, pet crows etc, Just different combos of that till i found the info i needed.
