Default Medical condition in cats... please look...

Hi, my OH found this on MSN the other night. The cat is sooo lovely, even though he has a medical condition, that apparently isn't well known, so I wanted to bring it to people's attention.

If you love cats, please watch, and pass it on if you can. It made me sniffle when I watched it, bless him.

That was a really sweet cat, I have never heard of anything like that in cats, but thats probably like the video suggested that they are needlessly put to sleep.
thanks for sharing that, its definately food for thought.

Weve had 2 of these at the sanctuary one lived until he was 10 and the other 5. Sorry but I dont think this is any life for a cat. After seeing these 2 (both stayed with their fosterers) I would never let this happen again.Cats are meant to be athletic and mobile. This video clip shows only a small bit of the cats life.It doesnt show it falling downstairs or falling out the litter tray or watching its friends running and chasing whilst it wobbles about unable to catch up. In USA it is a big thing to have one of these cats. I feel that after knowing 2 of these special needs cats I would Put to sleep the badly affected ones.Sorry if other people dont agree but I find these cats live sad pathetic lives and I am a great cat lover

Interesting view, should humans born with medical conditions like this be euthanised at birth too?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and it's life that not everyone's opinions will be the same. My view is different to yours but wouldn't life be boring if we were all the same....

Out of interest, what are your views on other medical conditions or disabilities in cats? ie, amputees/blindness etc, that might stop a cat from leading a "normal" life? And this is not intended to start an argument or to be contentious, I'm interested as to your view and what you feel is a normal life for a cat....

As you say we all have different opinions and Yes in some cases I think it would be kinder to euthanise some humans too. I have no problem with a cat with a missing limb or blindess if the cat has gradually lost its sight. I am the worlds biggest softy with animals I have a 3 legged dog an epileptic dog and about to get a deaf cat. I only have a problem when an animal cant act something like its supposed to.

i have never herad of this before, crazy.. i have also checked out another 5 - 6 vids on the net about it.. very interesting...
i cant say i woudl have my kitten put to sleep because of it, they have a basically normal life, just a little wobbally.. if however they fell over every ten seconds, and couldnt stand up, well thats different, butt they arent like that (obviosuly some will be better than others)
