Hi all,

At the moment this is hypothetical, but figured I'd ask none the less.

I love my dogs personality to bits, she is perfect to me, however I'd like to have puppies from her in the future. I've been told that some dogs personalities change after a litter of puppies.

Is this true, and if so, how drastic is the change, and in what direction is the change (better, worse, agressive etc)

ive never heard that, i think after youve sold the puppies she may be a little upset but they usually go back to normal with lots of love and attention

I had one litter of puppies from my first Afghan Hound and then neutered her. Never saw any change whatsoever in her personality or attitude, if anything she may have been calmer, but as Afghans aren't particularly a calm breed, it was hard to tell!!!

I staggered my puppies leaving and actually kept 2 for another 4 or 5 weeks, so she didn't seem to miss them going - she had 8!
