I realise that you're typing in installments, but can I just say that many neutered male cats also spray, not just entire males! It's just that they don't smell as strong as entire males.

Females also spray - not a lot of people are aware of that one!!

..on it to stop them getting to the spids, gecko and snake. they got in once and knocked my chilea down. lucky it wasnt my blondi/pokie or something!the spid got out and started flicking and stabbing at muffin. luckily all was well and noone was hurt. spid venom and hairs can be deadly to cats and dogs. and of course you got that huge snake? as long as they have the run of the whole place and kept away from the exotics theyll be fine. sorry about the many posts but when it comes to cats i blab lol.

thanks for filling in the missing bits. ill have to try that bag thing. mine love bags and first thing they did when tiny was pounce on a bag with crisps in. they got a crinkle tunnel too. they love the noise!

Hehe cat spray absolutely honks, but that's what febreeze is for Biggest snake I have is 4.5-5 foot (she wont stay still long enough to measure her properly), she's nowhere near big enough to eat a cat and you can do anything to her-she even endures my autistic brother and that's no mean feat!

Snakes and lizars will all be going in the viv stack, which in turn will have locks on each viv so *hopefully* that should keep them out of there, and I'll have a spare 6ft viv in there so any of the smaller inverts can go in there not to be knocked over.

The only things left then will be the frogs who are in a faunarium and the red knee who is in a mini exo terra, but again this has a lock on it and its reeeally heavy so if I put her somewhere high up she shouldn't be able to be knocked down. That said though theres loads of room for all of these in the spare viv! Rats are in a big glass tank and the hamsters are in a small glass tank so they should be secure enough to keep curious kitties out

I can vouch for that one - Febreeze wont stop them doing it either.. I use biological washing powder disolved in boiling hot water...

I found a brilliant invention aswell that is made in Australia that does get rid of the smell of cat pee...

My ginger mog, George who was neutered at 6 months, goes into the garden and sprays all the bushes, its funny to watch as he looks like a lion or tiger in the wild...

My boys spray in the garden too - and in the house when anything unusual happens or something new comes in - it's a compulsive "this is now mine" thing!!

I use bio too, then spray with surgical spirit, but it doesn't stop them - not my cats!!

What's the Australian stuff called - don't think I've heard of it?
