Default Some Rodent Ideas?

Evening guys
Iv been thinking about what my next rodent would be, we currently have mice and i love these to bits and have had rats, hamsters and the other usuals when I was younger.
I was possibly thinking of getting something a little different.
I really like the Zebra mice and Robo Hamster but wondered if anyone could give me any other suggestions on a rodent that wont take up alot of space but is a little different, they dont have to be handleable btw

Thanks alot

I highly recommend Duprasi for a small rodent.

Incredibly cute and they are very handleable but I shouldnt think one would be bothered if you didnt want to handle it. Would just require a nice habitat with stuff to do

Wow they are cute.
How do you find them as pets and what sort of enclosure to you keep them in?

Thanks for that

Although not technically a rodent African Pygmy Hedgehogs which come under the banner of insectivora, are fantastic and fit most of your criteria.

Easily kept in a zoozone or similar plastic tank with just wood shavings and they like a little patch of hay to sleep in. Most also like a little hide to sleep in too although one of mine always sleeps in the open.

They are most active at night but they often sleep upside down with their belly in the air which is so cute to watch.

Feed is just gerbil mix and you can give greens and mealworms etc. Pretty much the same as any gerbil or desert rodent.

They have a nickname - 'beermat hamster' because they are like a round, flat hamster lol

They really do score 11/10 for cuteness and I have no idea why they are not more popular.

I think hamsters make rubbish pets and would recommend a Duprasi instead any day

I had the same problem 2 weeks ago!! Couldnt find the right rodent to get...I origonally wanted rats, but I didn't have room for a big cage for them, then I thought about mice but couldn't get them anywhere near me...So I got a pair of gerbils! They are really interesting little pets and are always on the move...I even thought them gerbil agility...!!

Sorry if I'm ranting on but they really are a pleasure to own

Hope you find what your looking for

Aoife
