Default Sick goat

Went out this afternoon to feed, hay up and milk and found Phoebe is scouring badly and has bad tummy ache. I gave her milk of magnesia and watched her for half an hour before panicking entirely and calling the out of hours vet out. Apparently she isn't bloating, her rumen is still functioning and her gum colour is fine. I have no idea what is going on. She was only wormed 5 weeks ago, has no access to anything other than I give her. They had chopped carrots this morning, with hay and water available all day, then they get concentrate in the evening and more hay.
I checked her an hour ago and she is still moaning bless her but is walking about although looking really unhappy.
Vet gave her a painkiller plus an antibiotic and left me with electrolyte and some rumen boost stuff I have to give her tomorrow.
I'm worried sick .
I really could have done without the massive amount of money this is about to cost me. Money I don't have, but there is no way I could have left it to wait and see. I'll check her again in an hour and if she is no better, I'd better grit my teeth and start planning a bank hoist as I'll be getting the vet out again.

Poor girly I hope shes ok. Could she have eaten a foreign body? Probably to severe for this remedy but we give ours raspberry leaves for mild scouring (sure you know about this already ) Why are animals always sick out of vet hours?

I doubt she could have eaten a foreign body. Not impossible as nothing is impossible but they have a bare earth paddock which I sweep with a broom several times a week. The only thing I can put it down to is possibly being a greedy pig over the chopped carrots.
Anyway I've just been down with her and rubbed her tummy and given her a couple more spoonsful of milk of magnesia. She is burping ok and seems to have stopped pooping but still won't eat. She is standing ok too. I've shut her in a stall on her own and I'll leave her in peace now until morning. All the other goats are out in the paddock fast asleep until I go down with the storm lantern which they hate. It's a gaz one which hisses and spooks them.
I think I'll put electric lighting down there at some point.
Keep fingers crossed that she's ok tomorrow.

If I slept with her she wouldn't settle as it would be out of the ordinary. Nor would I get a decent night's sleep and if I didn't get a decent night's sleep I won't be in any state to do all the chores that need doing the next day. I have to finish mucking out for a start so I have to be fit and strong for them.
