Default dogs teeth

I always wondered why kia (DDB) has never caught me with her teeth whilst i was giving her small sized treats so I decided to look at her teeth and they where tiny and wonky. I then wondered about our english mastiff's teeth, my mom said she had wonky teeth to. So is it a mastiff's thing or am i doing something wrong? - If so please tell me in a sivil way - thanks in advance x

Our staffies front teeth aren't the straightest, lol, tiny and a bit wonky! Now she's getting on a bit she has a tendancy to get her lips stuck on her teeth so it looks like she's growling, lol, tis dead funny when you walk in and see her sitting there with her teeth on display grimacing away to the world, lmao, then she licks her lips and all's well again, hahah!

What it is, is the breeding behind it, and the reason behind the inscisors being so small is that the Bull breeds (Dogue De Bordeoux and Staffies etc) is because when they bite the back teeth are what hold the thing they are biting as the muscle at the back of the mouth locks the jaw shut. So the back teeth just do more damage.

Urban myth, they just have strong powerful jaw muscles and reluctent (sp) to let go.....

There are alot of urban myths but this has actually been looked at by researchers. I only know this since im on an ND animal management course and have been told this. They are reluctant but since most dogs would be reluctant to let go, they dont have the jaw strength that bull breeds do
