Default Can someone tell me - what are sugar gliders?

Ive seen pics and they look like little squirrely related cuties lol...but i have some questions so i hope someone can answer them 4 me!!

1. what are they lol
2. how long do they live 4
3. do they bite?
4. what do they eat?
5. what do they live in/living requirements
6. are they expensive

They're the marsupial (pouched) Australian equivalent of a flying squirrel.

2) up to 15 years
3) sometimes, hard, and painfully, some are nicknamed fluffy cobras for good reason. with a lot of time and patience the young can be bonded to their human owner well tho.
4) omniverous.. mine get fruit, some veg, small bits of protein like chicken and egg and tuna, mealworms, cottage cheese, yoghurt, seeds..
5) as big a cage as possible. minimum 4ft high by 2ft square or so. think big chipmonk cage,
6) someone has two neutered males and cage for £400 on, which imho they have NO chance of getting... i picked up a uncut pair and cage for £60.. and am being given another male for nothing, but about £100 a glider is an average price i guess

awwwh that 3rd pic is sooo cute, how often do u have 2 clean the cage out? do they let off nuclear waste smelling poo like leos do? lol

cleaning.. umm well they pee on the bars all the time.. so it helps to keep them wiped down!

smell, personally yes i think they smell a little like ripe fruit lol

ripe fruit? gotta be better than nuclear waste lol

size... well this is one on a gardening glove (see "do they bite" )



and on a toaster



same body length as a hamster, but about half the width, tail twiceish the size of body
