Default Culling Peacocks!!!! Noooo

Has everyone heard whats going on in Devon...the zoo has decided to cull large numbers of Peacocks because of neighbours complaints of ''noise''. People have started to cut down trees where they roost and everything...I mean if you want a quiet life, dont live next to a zoo!!

They've already culled lots, but now they're planning to cull more!!!

what a shame, there were a lot of free ones offered in the classifieds several weeks ago, I wonder if that was them.

How bloody stupid, I love to hear the peacocks call........there are worse noises than birds.

Oh dear not good........surely they can rehome though??

what it was, was they were getting out of the zoo onto peoples front gardens and so called making a mess and being loud and when they put them back in the zoo they just came back out and would sit under a tree in the shade, but some miserable bast*rds decided they didnt like it, but I have a better idea why not cull the people, then the peacocks can do what they want

I go to paignton zoo all the time, i know it sounds horrible, but there are ALOT and i mean alot of peacocks. If they cant give them away and the locals are complaining, then they have no choice i guess.
I'd have some if i had the room.

I always go there and feed the peacocks! I had about 6 feeding out of my hand, with others in the background heading my way.
I dont like it either, but if it's the only option and knowing Paignton zoo, it will be.

Apparantly they cannot be rehomed because of the bird flu scares..poor things..people should learn to live in peace with the animals around them.

i wonder how long the zoo has been open? if it was opened recently then id understand why people were acting up but if its been there ages then they should have learnt to live with it
