I rode a nice horse in Cyprus.. if I could find horses like that here I'd be happy.. it was.. spotted, hard to describe, big but not stocky like a cob here, very muscular and could move very fast! Sorry I don't know all the different types of horses. I did look in the riding school but they had either ponies, huge cob type weight bearing plodders, or really thin and agile thoroughbreds which probably wouldn't suit me

A good riding school will find an animal to suit you and if they dont have it, they should say. Ask to have a look round the stables and discuss your previous experience and Im sure they will be happy to sort something out for you.
Go for it!

Dug this out from Cyprus

Yeah I look awful but the horse was nice

My OH is in the background on a pony being held by a guy because he'd never ridden before

I love horses and used to own a 14.2hh strawberry roan cob gelding called Teddy - he was a great big fat ex-riding school plod and I absolutely adored him! Would really love to get back into riding regularly as soon as I've got some dosh saved up - and it's my dream to own a horse again one day.

Horses are also my first love, ive owned an ID x TB, an ID x Connemara and 3 TBs in the past.

I worked in an eventing yard before settling happily into racing, i spent 5 years riding racehorses before i had a bad accident that put me in hospital for a while and stopped me being physically able to do my job anymore.

I still ride out occasionally but its rare these days with having a toddler.

I had a arab x gelding who died when he was 31. He was amazing, jumped anything you put in front of him. He was great. Aww i miss him. Ma first pony was a highland x. She was a little bugger bought her from a riding school, found her in her field last year she must have been in her late 20's aswell. My mum just has 5 shetlands now oohh god they have some characters Definatly give it ago.
