Thanks to everyone who read this thread. It has helped a lot. thanks to Mark for the number, I had been investigating insurance, although i was looking at a £60 excess and was asking mself if it was worth it. still havent picked up the bill, but i expect it will be three figures. doesn't matter now. CPL are covering it and i am paying them back.

I took him home this afternoon and buried him down near the river, just across from the house. made a wee collage this evening, which helped to deal with it. i feel like such a saddo, but the whole thing has really got me down. maybe they could have done something if they saw him straight away

Thanks again to everyone for reading and for the kind PMs xx

OK. back to being annoyed again. called up the vet for the bill, got told "no"!!!

I was not allowed to get my bill.

turns out one of the vets didnt complete her notes before going off on holiday for three weeks.

so they made a song and dance about not treating Misty last tuesday because i had no money to pay up front, and now they wont be giving me my bill for another 3 weeks!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH HHHHH!!!!

So mad right now. the cat suffered unnecessarily for 24hrs, because of their penny pinching attitude, now the dumb fcukrs dont know how to add up:

3 nights boarding

2 antibiotic injections

2 steroid injections

pain relief

Blood tests for FeIV, Leukaimia, and another immune disorder

euthanisation

and they are trying to charge me for an x-ray he did not get!!!

a few options...

1. cat rescue centres.. although he is not a rescue.. ur in ability to provide treatment classes him as in need.. and they should help

2. PDSA ... a pdsa center should treat your animal at discount with a promise to pay... in an emergency.. they cannot turn you away... (if you know anybody on benefits.. this helps greatly.. they do for a donation... that is how my dog is cared for.. under my mothers benefit.. couldnt afford a £600 operation.. and a £70 donation was all i could afford at the time- i do donate regular though)

3. tell the vets to invoice you... this gives u 1 month to pay or make arrangements to pay... any decent vets such as ambivets should do this...

hope this helps

<3 to your kitty

peace

James

word of advice: read threads fully before making replies, especially this one, since you missed an important point...the cat was put down

Thanks though for taking the time, but it is a little late for me

P.S. the CPL helped btw, and i am to pay them back.
