They have asmell to them yes but I dont think nits that bad!
They bite when playing but you can nip train them.
I think they are easy to keep, but they need about 2 hours of human interaction a day.
I definitly recommend getting 2 though, they are alot more fun watching them playing together.

They smell. However you can have females spayed which will stop them smelling as much. Males smell the worst. Having a male neutered will also stop him smelling as much however they will still have a bit of an odour.
Cleaning out their hutch/run/shed/cage often will offcourse help in keeping that area from smelling.

All animals are able to bite. Ferrets will nip, as mentioned however soon grow out of that habit. If you leave a ferret in a tiny hutch on its own for years then you better expect to be bitten.

They are easy to keep. If you devote enough time to them you will realise how great they are to have as pets.

Also as mentioned before if you're going to keep them outside, best to get a pair or more. House ferrets recieve more attention obviously because they are in the house.

Here is a hutch I had a pair of young males in. I can't seem to find any of my larger set ups.
I should mention that my pair housed in this picture were working ferrets. I also took them out to the fields just for a run about so they were fortunate anough to be allowed as active. If you don't plan on taking them out somewhere to stretch their legs, best to give them alot of space.

Ferrets have an odour but it doesnt smell bad, their toilets can be pretty rank at times though, i clean mine out every three days.
Unneutured ferrets espeically the boys will absolutely STINK during mating season, as they rub pee on themselves to make them more attractive to female ferrets. They also become greasy and generally not so nice to be around.

They are great pets fantastic funny little maniacs.

My ferrets bite, not hard but enough to notice, this is their invitation to come and play with them. My older male doesn't hurt at all when he opens his mouth but the babies are still learning and i took a foot attack two days ago and i am still marked!

Mine live in a 3 storey cage in my living room right next to the back door. Upstairs is for sleeping, the middle is for food and the bottom is for pooh and my living room is available for many hours of the day to play in.

Thanks for reading,
Saff
i dont have one but ive taken a animal course and the female ferret will come in season and they wont come out untill they been mated once and then they will come in season 1-2 a year or you can have them done [newtared dont know how to spell lol]
but if one isnt done they can die from it alot of bleeding and discharge like female dogs do.
and also they dont eat dogs food coz they cant live off it they like cats coz they eat alot of meat and they will be happy living off cats food this is all i know. i hope this helps.
