Default Keeping hedgehogs!!

Never occurred to me until I saw someone's hedgehog on the the pics section!! What do they eat? How do you keep them? Do you need a licence or special permission? Do you keep the wild ones or CB?

Its captive bred ones you keep. They are called African Pygmy Hedgehogs. Very cute, I want one but partner wont let me. Expensive too about £150 per hedgehog. They do make good pets apparently.

My one eats crickets, mealworms, waxworms, cat food (dry n wet), special hedgehog food, bits of fruit that he likes, and he likes cheese but he doesnt have it too often. There are loads of different things we'll give him as treats even tho he is really fussy.

He cost £180 which is steep i know but ...well..i saved up

i used to want one till i saw how much mess they make and how badly they smell, even when you clean them out twice a day.

most people keep them in something like an indoor rabbit cage.

Hoggies make great pets.
They are best housed in vivariums and eat complete catfood or commercially available hedgehog food.
