Default Hedgehogs

I would love a pet hedgehog...they are so cute and i really want one but i know nothing about them so could you help me please lol:

first off what kind of housing do they need?[[answered-ish]]
how much am i looking at paying for one ((i know its a fair bit))? [[answered]]
what do they eat?[[answered but would like a bit more info]]
how much human interaction do they need?
are they hard to keep?

I was gonna make this in a seperate thread but i thought id use this lol...

does anyone know of anywhere that breeds hedgehogs??

It depends on the kind you wont. Do a web serch. there is a breeder in essex. Thay breed African pygmys There site has great info. Im getting one soon but not from there. Im keeping mine in a larg indoore rabbit cage. Ive been told i can use hemp in the cage and a wheel like you get for a chinchilla. Im paying £100 for mine

i dont care what breed ive seen some african pygmys before and they are what tempted me into getting some lol...do you have this website of the breeders?? if so could you pm it to me or post it up =] thanks

Hi sorry i kno nothin about hedgehogs...but i do know that viper and vine reptile store in prestwich manchester sells hedgehogs.

hey before you go out and buy a hedgehog....they stink and it doesn't matter how many times a day you clean them out.
you can house them in an indoor rabbit cage.
your looking at around £100-£150 but depends on type.
depends on what species you have as to what they eat but generally cat food, dry and wet, mealworms, waxies etc.
depends on hedgehog as to how much human interaction they want.
not to hard to keep but they smelll

i can live with smell lol...i live with a fartyarse brother and father lol plus they will be kept in a well ventilated area so smell should be minimal but im prepared for smells lol thanks anyway
