lol, at a guess i would say that would be Holly... she is VERY enthusiastic about her dinner...

little miss "butter would not melt"

she's good as gold once out, bar ears.. she has a thing about nipping ears.. oh.. and toes actually... other than that she is a sweetie..

mind you she drove Rory nuts the other night coming back from emma, she would NOT sit still for love, money or bribery!

teyah has grown somewhat since the last lot of pics i put on here!!! in fact i could say, she has grown maybe a little too much !!! she is, i feel, touching on the obese side if skunkdom. she is still very active though, no trouble moving about, and I'm working on slimming her down a tad again!! her nails need clipping again too..

she is much happier generally i feel, she comes out to see me more, rather than hiding all the time.. and she and snuff still get on really well

We have ours free-roaming in the house, only one of them can get up our stairs though, the only rooms they are not allowed in are the kitchen (they set up camp under the kitchen units) and the viv room, as they cause chaos where ever they go. They are suprisingly easy to keep once you have sussed the diet requirements, and stopped them digging the carpets up.

Yep, Teya is looking a bit on the rotund size Nerys

Nice pictures. I really should get the camera out and gets some more photograph of ours, they had a whale of a time last night it was the first time they have been allowed out into the garden

well, i meet a friends skunks, and rather liked them, so started looking into it..

i was lucky enough to have a friend who worked with some adults, we got talking about skunks, and i said i would like one at some point.. i was then put on the waiting list for a male black and white baby!!

a few weeks later, i got a call, asking me if there was any chance i would be interested in an albino female, instead of a black and white male.. as someone had backed out on buying the albino.. so of course i said yes! best thing i ever did!

space per skunk.. my guys have a room, i share a bedroom with them in dorset (they are better company than my ex!) although at Rorys, they have the spare room, not the main bedroom! most people i know have them as house skunks, and they tend to have it set up so they have a room or pen in which they are shut when the owner is not there.. (as they can get into all sorts of trouble otherwise!) and then they have the run of the house, or certain parts of it when people are there.

i keep mine much the same as a house cat, or small dog.

Snuff has recently up'd her appetite again, which is good, between december and about march she ate nothing but mealworms and yoghurt, with some chicken - which considering she is supposed to be on a 70% + veg, i was not happy about! its only been in the last month that she has started back eating veg again. i am told its a common seasonal trait for wild skunks, to eat mostly protein in the spring/early summer.. and switch to more veg and fruits in the late summer autumn to bulk up for then fasting or semi fasting over winter. So it seems she is showing some instinctive behaviours, which is very interesting Teyah is not! she eats for england! or was.. she has cut back now... but before gorged everything she could. she was raised the first year on cat food and a bit of fruit, those who saw her when she first came will tell you she was half the size of snuff, lean, with a dirty sticky yellow looking coat.. since then she has changed almost beyond recognition, but my word she has used a lot of food doing it!

So... Mum.... where IS my dinner???

i know its round here somewhere mum...

I can smell it! i know i can! gimme a lift i bet you put it on the cabinet..

you DID, you DID.. you DID put it up there... damn... now if i can just...

ahhh.. thats more like it....

(this is two of the three bowls they get, teyahs is on the other side of the room)

Snuff is definitely making up for lost time on the eating front!

just watch the level drop! the orange bowl is a mug of veg, topped with 2 table spoons of peach melba yoghurt, 1 heaped table spoon of cottage cheese, 1/4 breast of roast chicken. the square bowl is just plain chopped veg and fruit.

first she goes for the yoghurt, then the cottage cheese, then the chicken, then the veg in the orange bowl..
