Default Have any of your tortoise enthusiasts seen this?

Hi all
I've got a 'favourite search' on ebay for a new viv and when I got my new listings e-mail today, this was on it:

vivarium on eBay, Reptiles, Pet Supplies, Home Garden (item 190151591717 end time 15-Sep-07 21:15:36 BST)

What do you all think about the way he's done it???

I thought people couldn't sell live 'animals' on ebay?

I saw this last night n must admit i was infuriated. He's not said he's selling the tortoise he's worded around it. needs reporting to ebay tbh but i dunno how.

'unwanted present' :S ffs..this is just what we need, anti's gettin a hold of links like that.. don't even get me started on the fact it's in an unmodified viv,,being kept on wood chippings..n being fed directly off the substrate..off..what i can only guess is carrots n brocolli cut up

Why go n buy a frickin tortoise if you don't know the person wants it!? they're not a bike...for gods sake.

god some people just infuriate me.

Yes, I'm with you 100% on that.

I just cannot understand why anyone would buy any living creature as a gift without finding out that the person actually wanted it.

Did you report him? Cos I went back on after I put up this post to report him myself and the listing had already been removed, so someone's already done it!

Yes, I must say that ebay do act quickly when someone is reported for breaking THEIR rules - I reported a family for shill bidding and they were off before you knew it!

However, they're not so quick or willing when the rules are bent or people don't follow through with sales etc.

I know exactley what you mean Feorag... Bit worried i mayhave got the member banned...can't seem to find them anymore. Although i suppose they know the rules when thye sign up, n the way they were going about selling that tort was disgraceful.

see it's things like that, which make me go out n impulse buy. Was so tempted just to get the tort outta that situation. I mean any idiot could of bought it

Maybe that's what people like that rely on. I know too many people who've bought sick animals just to get them out of the owner's home!

Yeah, it's how i ended up with my little Tort kiara. Saw her in the pet shop with about five other species in a two foot adapted fish tank type thing. About twenty plus in there..n she didn't look well..the only food on the plate was fruit, (totally unsuitable) N i stupidly bought her as she looked so sorry for herself.. talk about feedin the trade. Was kicking myself by the time that I got home.
Luckily i've got her back to health She's a right little character now.
