Default Escapies!!!

Well Friday at 1015am i get a text from my other half saying CALL ME NOW!! so naturally i called him in a bit of a panic and asked what was wrong "the ferrets have escaped our neighbour caught fidget and put him back in his house but frodo is gone!"

I rushed home from work and started the hunt spent hours in the field behind my house with a friend calling him then came back up to my house and went over the road and told the doctors surgery i had lost a ferret and where i lived and then i walked over to the church where they had an under fives play group i walked in on a manic lesson and informed them to one woman turned real mouthy with me "that rat attcked my daughter" obviously i was shocked to hear this as frodo has never attacked anyone so i ask if she was alright and what had happened to frodo "£well he tried to get up her trouser leg so i kicked him away" i found out what way he had gone and frantically started looking over fances and down the alley.

I popped my head over this one fence and the ladies dog barked i said i was sorry i was just looking for my ferret and i was so happy when she said he is here!!

I got him home lucky for me she had called the rspca and frodo is chipped so i would eventually had got him back i took fidgit straight to the vet that night and got him chipped too and now rather than have slide bar locks in all four corners i have now hinged one side of the door and left the slide bolts on the other side but added some paddlocs to it too!!

I would have been so gutted if i had lost them so the moral of the story make sure your ferret house is as secure as it possibly could be and that you get them micro chipped they cost me £15 each to do but in the long run it is so worth it just for the piece of mind

and i am so so so happy to have them both at home we took them up the downs yesterday on there little harnesses and they loved it it wouldnt have been the same with just one of them

You were very lucky he didn't go over a field, he just decided to attend the under 5's play group instead!

You must have been so relived to find him.

Lucky!

My female ferret got out once, but she didn't get far and she wandered up to me when I was going to check on them

Gosh you are so lucky. This was one of the reasons i decided to keep mine in the house because i was so fearful that they would get out knowing how good they are at getting out of their indoor cage.
