Question can anybody help me ASAP please?

My brother had his cat taken off him by the RSPCA last thursday... he got ran over 2 years ago and he has had a dodgy eye ever since... now the RSPCA are trying to say that he has hurt the cat....the RSPCA did not give him 24 hours notice about taking the cat and now they are finding it very hard to get him back.

My brother and his family would NEVER hurt animals ever.

the RSPCA even Took the cats eye out without notifying my brother or his wife....

now in my eyes the should have giving him 24 hours notice before they took the cat and they should have notified him before operating.

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME A NUMBER I COULD RING FOR ANY LEGAL ADVICE THAT DEAL WITH THIS SORT OF THING PLEASE

THANKS

AMY X

i'd ring the vet that treated the cat when it got ran over and see if they have any files from back then. may have a list of the injuries on it which you can use once you go to court over it

Yup, as above..... even if he's changed vets since then the new vet normally gets the patient history from the old vet so he should be able to prove the injuries were treated.

My brother has got all the files on his cat....

But personally i think that the RSPCA has broke the law anyways because they didn't give him 24 hours notice before they took the cat.

if they think an animal is in danger or is being mistreated they can take that animal there and then.

im not saying your brothers cat was, just depends what sort of power trip the rspca officer is on that day.

they will gove 24-48 hours if the where the animal is living isnt up to scratch. it just gives time for the person to clean up the kennel/pen/room.

if the rspca feel an animal has been neglected they do not have to give any notice when taking it i defo agree with the above go to the vet get him to contact the rspca to say he has been treated. is the cat of good health and weight? do the rspca have anything to go on ie have they seen vet records yet? if you feel there is nothing to go on then call a soliciter they give you a free 30mins for advice and whether its worth going on with or try citizens advice they are also free and very helpful

i honestly think they do help in certain situations and we should keep them around, but they really do need someone new to take over and re-write some of their laws and policys.

i had a couple of visits from them when i had a feud going with an old neighbour. they were told i was mistreating my dog so to them that meant i 100% was for sure doing it. they turned up with the police to take him away. when i let them in they read me the roit act before they had even seen my dog.

when they did eventually see him they could see there was nothing wrong with him or his living quarters. i called my uncle up when they were there and got him to come over as hes a vet. i made sure the rspca stayed there while my uncle gave my dog a complete examination. there wasn't one thing wrong with him.

they left with their tails between thier legs and saying sorry so many times that i lost count.

thats the sort of thing that needs to be stopped imo.
