Default Bald Ferret

Ive currently got 2 ferrets (one male, one female) but over the last week or so ive noticed the female has gone rather blad around the base of her tail/bottom of her back.

I have read this can be quite common and more often than not corrects itself.

It did happen not long after i tried a flea treatment so not sure if this could be the cause (has not happened with the male mind).

What i need to know is whether or not this calls for a visit to the vets or is it really that common and will it correct itself soon enough? However, if there can be a more serious reason for the hairloss i need to know so i can ring the vets asap!!

Thanks in advance.
Gary.

It did look a little red and sore up towards her neck area a few days after putting the flea treatment on but we gave her a bath straight away and it seems to have more or less gone now!!

All the fleas have gone so it was just the tail i was a little worried about...but i feel a lot better now so thanks for the reply

Be careful with treatments like that they are absorbed through the skin and build in to toxic levels that can kill very quickly.

If you notice she is disorientated or sleepy best phone a vet.
