If your dad gets either of those benefits he can just call up the nearest one and make an appointment, if he takes copy of his benefit letter with him, they will set up his account and give him a treatment card. All treatment is then free except for flea treatment, vaccinations, and neutering.

Im not sure if all rspca are the same but out local one pays £20 towards vet bills. I know its not much but every little helps you have to call up for a number and then let the vet know and take proof of any benefit into the vets.

That's great news Gina - I'm so pleased to hear it!

The Blue Cross are pretty good and quite honestly I'm much happier supporting them than the RSPCA. In fact I'm training to be a childrens' speak for them at the minute!

Sorry this has all happened on your birthday - Happy Birthday!!! It was mine yesterday (all great people are born in December!!! )

Glad you can get him sorted out - I had a feeling teeth could be behind some of it cos you know how awful toothache is, cos it never goes away and would make anyone crotchety. Told you it was acne

When he does go in to have the dental I would strongly recommend that you tell them that if they find any teeth that are even 'slightly questionable' to take them out, otherwise (if he has any left) you could be back in this situation with the anaesthetic worry in a few months time.

He'll manage fine with no teeth - cats do!

its my birthday and why do bad thinsg always happen then eh? or near christmas?

he has got to have an opperation - wich my family doesnt have the money for..
so this could mean no xmas for us, or sell some reptiles.

his teeth like i said in some other posts have always been bad, and where ''sorted'' last time.

today i was told he has to have 5 teeth out, and has a possible absess/tumour.

i was also told that if we leave it any longer - it'll get worse..

also we have been told cos he is old there is a chance of problems with anesthetics (sp)

also...

out pet insurance - loads of cr*p..

doesnt cover it...

we cannot afford it - dad going through a divorce and well we only have enough money for food for us humans..

anyone know of a charity that could help?
Have you not got a PDSA ? as they will normally do operations like this for a donation

sorry lol should have read the rest has already been mentioned
