Default Big Cats & Yor Experiences

Hi,
I know there are alot of big cats that roam free in England/Wales and Scotland but has anyone ever managed to catch a quick photo, or had interesting expereinces?
I was walking back to a friends house through fields etc, and for some reason looked back and there was a large black cat shaped animal a good half a mile to a mile away... now it couldn't of been an average sized kitty cat as it would of been alot smaller to me.. barely seeable infact..
Once home was told by a family member to be careful because a pantha had been spotted in the area. I daren't go out after that lol.

Anyway would be interested in hearing your experiences.

I think that there is enough evidence that a few escapees exist, although I doubt a breeding community; and given their wide territories I also don't think that it will be that easy to track them down.

I also believe that many of the sightings are misplaced or hoaxes.

To be fair though its not difficult for wild cats to get free, many years ago in Grimsby two tigers( or lions cant remember which ones) got free from a circus and managed to get to freshney shopping centre and attack a man, this is why circus's are no longer aloud to have lions or tigers participate in their shows.

I would love to see one (at a safe distance ofcourse) wild here in the UK.

I think that the evidence is clear that there are now big cats wild in the UK, that must have breed because the introduction of the Dangerous Animals Act was back in the 1970's and they would have all died out by now.

If you ask me the government are not able to get any definate figures on the number of cats there are here in the UK, and would rather not tell the British public that there is the strong possibly that Big Cats are now thriving in the UK. We can't trust Gordon Brown and this government of most things, and they know that something like this would give the scaremongers a field day.

Big Cats like the Panther survive in a range of habitats in Asia, and our winters would be no different to some of the high mountainous regions where they are found. As for food well there are plenty of rabbits and small deer to maintain a large predator without making it conspicious. However you cannot get much more high profile than eating one of Gordon Ramsay's specially breed sheep, on Posh and Becks estate.
