It's christmas! too much hassle to some ****S to be looking after an animal when they could be out getting wasted.

I found a dog after dropping my kids at school in the morning. Just stopped him being hit by a car, took him straight to the vets as we were in the village and it was just 4 doors up. Scanned him for a chip, phoned his owner who said 'I gave him to my sister 3 months ago but she's ill and not gonna want him back. You don't want a reward do you?'

To which I told the recpetionist to tell her I'd take him home. He's a Staffie x Collie and sadly if he had gone to a dogs home he'd have been put to sleep because they are over flowing with staffie x's they can't find homes for. My hubby came home from work and fell in love with him and so he's now hubbies dog and is getting totally spoilt rotten.

It upsets me the way dogs are treated now. I thout you had to have a good reason to put a dog down els the vet wouldent do it. I had no idea peapol did it for no reason. How could thay. My rotti has been ill and now her bladders gon. She had pollystistic overy as a pup and had to have the lot out. Now it looks like after 7yrs with her she will have to be put to sleep Iv been putting it off for monthes as i feel so bad so to hear somones doing it just because thay dont wont the dog makes me sick.nice to hear you saved her and are giving her a good home. Its ctriminal that she was going to have he animal destroyed when there are so many rrescues that owould have taken her on till she found a new home. Well done mate.. What a sweetheart!

We rescued a dog earlier this year.. a Huskey/GSD cross. She was being rehomed because the guys wife gave him the Ultimatum its me or the dog.. And The dogs Chip is registered in her name!
When she got too big she just threw the dog outside all day in the garden and brought her in 10 minutes before her husband came home. She wasnt at all house trained.

I get the feeling she only wanted Luna while she was a cute fluffy adorable little puppy and as soon as she became adolecant, grew alot and became clumsy she didnt want poor luna anymore.

We rehomed her at 6 months old. Had we not picked her up on the day we said or changed her mind she was going to be sent to the RSPCA and we all know what they d if an animal isnt homed after 7 days residence.

This is not typical practice for the RSPCA, but older dogs are often PTS if they cannot be moved to another shelter at this time of year as there are SO many animals waiting to come into the centres.

The RSPCA kept my rott x staff for THREE YEARS until he found a home, by passing him through their shelters, so dont go believing every dog is put down so quickly. I am not a fan of the RSPCA though some people make them out to be even worse than they are..
