Especially if their main diet is going to be Suparat Excel (which IIRC is the pelleted food) then you should give them extras - rats live to eat, and the more variety you give them, the happier they will be.

My rats get everything we eat - I just give them the leftovers, and they love it.

As yours are presumably babies, they will need lots of extra protein and fat at the moment. I would recommend reading these articles:

Fancy Rats | Information | Feeding for Reproduction and Growth
Fancy Rats | Information | The Shunamite Diet
Fancy Rats | Information | The General Principles of Feeding Rats

ah that's fantastic again, cheers hun.

Would you not recommend the suparat excel then? If you don't recommend it i'll change their food

I personally feed the shunamite diet, as laid out in that second link. Rats love eating so much that the pellets must seem a bit boring - they love different flavours and textures.

i think it would be similar to the jenny with the bars as there are not coated and there soon look yucky.

there are always cheap freddys on the classfieds and ebay

some pics of the new rats... sorry for the attrocious quality and random chopping.. Will (the other half) didn't want to be seen in any of them lol..hates having his photo taken almost as much as me

as you can see Ruby the one we have been told is a Fawn husky? Is quite the little poser, her sister ghost won't sit still tho.

So sorry for the HORRENDOUS quality, i'll keep trying to get some better ones
