They may have died of poison! If kept in glass tanks, they can poison themselfs!

well i keep my mice in the lab cages have 1.2 in a box approx 12-14inch long about 6 inch wide and 4 or 5 inch tall. only gets really crowded when they have more than 15 pinks each in there then i take some straight out so the other ones will be stronger and have more chance of surviving

I've never heard of this before!!!!!!
The only time I've heard of rodents bieng poisoned in tanks was when my friends daughter decided to clean the glass with 'windolene'.

I have no problem with lab cages it's just the mice look so unhappy in them.
I like to give mine some room to play and have loo rolls and toys.
I think I'm just soft.
Although my mice are, predominantly, in tubs I think they must be in 'mansion' type mouse housing.
I only ever have 1.3 in an 18ltr RUB, 380 x 310 x 170mm, so even if they have a litter each they aren't too overcrowded.

I only have about 20-25 RUB's/tanks etc with rodents in at the moment.
Did have a few more but sold a bit yesterday!!!!
Once they are in the rodent shed in Spring I intend having more.

I've now got a few 'outlets' for them.

Yeah, especially with rats. Their own amonia build up can kill them as the gass doesnt escape. SO they more you have, the more chance of it happening.

PS, i think it is amonia lol
