My 18 month GSD is having them every 12 weeks at the moment and it is a nightmare, going to have to talk to the vet soon. She's just dripped blood all over my floors again, and shes a big dog that needs a lot of exercise so it's really hard to keep her in

Hi if your dog is having seasons every 4 months talk to the vet and they will arrange to spay her about a month or so after her season.

Just because your Mom's dog went into season then, doesn't mean all dogs are the same. They are all different, so there's no way to really tell.

Depends entirely on the dog but usually bitches come into season roughly every 6 months. The safest time to spay a bitch is mid way between seasons so of yours is coming into season every 4 months then your vet should spay her 2 months after the season has finished.

Would be slightly worried about my bitch if she was coming int season every 12 weeks. Maybe speak to your vet sooner rather than later?
