Sorry to hear that... The best way to get over it is FUN.
By that i mean get your mobile phone and video yourself/yourselves doing a replay/updated version of the monty python sketch ... 'THIS is a dead parrot!'
LOL .. i did it with my budgie and shared it with my family... i still smile now thinking about it!!!!
