Question Possible re-home usa red bd-advice needed

Ok i need help. I bought a red bd from a member off her who warned me she had a bad nose rub and some cuts on her back from an over friendly male and from what i was told i knew i could care for her but the reality has been different. Her cuts are getting better on her back but the nose rubs terrible. Also shes not eating. She had been vet checked for mites etc so i think shes just refusing to eat. She laid a strange clutch of eggs over a week period and since then the weights falling off her. We have been giving her critical care and hand feeding but i just dont feel confident enough to deal with her- she needs someone with loads of experience. Im not sure how re-homing works as she is a very expensive usa bloodline red dragon and if in full health worth 200-250 so i dont want her going to someone who's looking to make on her. Can any one offer any advice on re-homing, fees etc. I just want her to be ok. The vets said there is nothing physically wrong with her so she must be a bit mental!

Make sure you re home her with someone who can help. If you want to discourage freebie hunters put on a small rehoming fee but anything too high could put off genuine helpers as its expensive enough to treat a long going problem after. Ask lot of questions first to make sure you are confident they can help. In my sig theres a list of rehomers who genuinly can help with special reptiles. x

how much would you put on for re-home fee? she doesnt need vets trips etc just someone with the time to coax her round as she's had the all clear from 2 vets in the last month. apparently shes depressed!

All depends if you rehome or sell. Most rehoming fees are around £20. As if you charge say £100 then ppl will just take it as a sale. But making sure she has a perfect home is sometimes more important. x

Are you looking to rehome the lizard or sell it?

There are people who take sick, injured and unwanted pets on but I wouldn't expect them to pay.

If you feel you have to put a price to deter freebie hunters ask for a donation to a registered charity.

Would you be able to get her to me and I would pay your petrol? I am in Bradford. Or get her to Doncaster show? Have lots of experience with dragons, other reptiles and treating sick/injured ones and I'm sure ToxicSiren would vouch for me.
