Love to meet you Skooby.

If you do get here, say hello.

I'll be the one with the grey hair, beard and 7 foot boa

The Boa is top notch, Andy.

A big fluffy kitten, though he did make an appearance on local radio today and put the shits up the presenter and producer.................

Happy days.

And I was the one with 10 tons of monitor poo on his T-shirt seemed like a good turn out (the open day, not the monitor, although come to think of it...) and just sorry we couldn't stay longer - but Izzy insisted I went home for a shower .

I wish I had known about this earlier!! I woulda badgered to OH into going. Sounds fantastic! Do you plan on doing another similar day? I would love to get to work with some of the larger marsupials (I share my home with gliders and STOs) and wallabies are probably number one on my wish list!

Hi Skooby,

It was a fantastic day, and I'm glad you made it. I was the guy laughing like hell at you...............

It was so good, we will certainly have more, but we estimated the turnout at about 400 people, so for the next one, we will have to go somewhere bigger than my front garden.

Weather was fab, people were lovely, we rehomed a guinea pig to a lovely, and very knowledgable family, released our beloved kestrel back into the wild and had loads of cages, vivs and equipment donated.

Will get back to the board with a grand total when I can be bothered to count, but thanks for wishes of good luck and to all who made it here.

Alan

Guys, I am officially gobsmacked....................

Don't know what you thought, Skooby, but the event must have done something right...................

We have raised over 800 quid, with about another hundred promised from sponsorship.

That has me speechless and amazed at how much locals care.

All emotional now...............
