Thumbs up Rescue and Rehoming - Yorkshire

We are the Morley Exotic Animal Rescue Trust.

We cannot use the word charity yet as we are awaiting the charity number from the commission.

We seek to rescue, treat and rehome all exotics, regardless of type and with no questions asked - so don't be embarrased.

We never put an animal down unless a Vet instructs it as in the animals best interests.
We do not sell animals, nor do we ever breed from rescued animals.
Where animals are unable to be rehomes we keep them and use them to fundraise and educate local children etc. in good husbandry.

We currently house exotic birds, lizards, snakes, inverts, arachnids, marsupials to wallaby size, meerkats, skunks and some of the more usual domestic animals.
We have little for rehoming currently, and the more exotic and unusual types go to zoos and animal centres.

We welcome contact from anyone needing to find a home for an exotic.
We have transport available from our volounteers and can travel if absolutley necessary, though we ask for costs donation if you ask us to come to you.

Please PM me for any info, or post on here.

Alan

For the hard of thinking, may I just reiterate;

We are not advertising wanting anything. The last thing we would want is for any animal to need our service - but the sad fact is, they do.

Neither do we sell anything - ever. Nor do we breed from anything - ever.

I can understand this being offensive to pet shops, as we educate people that pets should never be bought on a whim, and that rather than encourage excess breeding by going to a petshop, they should see if their requirements can be fulfilled by careful and well informed adoption.

To the general animal loving community, we would expect this to be a welcome effort. Especially since the national, well known charities are lost after cats dogs and bunnies.

Off the soapbox now, and thanks for messages of support.

Alan
