Default Reluctant sale of 1.1.1 Monkey tailed skinks

due to unfortunate circumstances we are being forced to sell our lovely monkey tailed skinks . we have a proven breeding pair, with this years offspring for sell(born Oct 6 2006). this includes their viv and all branches/decor. the vivarium is 4ft high x 2FT wide x 4ft long. includes ceramic heater( and spare bulb in unopened box) a uv starter/ with uv tube(4 months old). only willing to sell to a someone who can home the breeeding pair together as they have been together since very young, and would cause these animals alot of stress to be seperated. I may be willing to sell the juv seperatley as long you can show that it will be going into another group... of course the longer it's left with the parents the harder it will be to seperate. please e-mail me on xraverxbabyx@hotmail.com or give me a PM to ask for price, and any other info you would like to know. we live in bristol, please only reply if you are serious, and have the time/knowledge/space to look after these amazing skinks.

we had alot of interest in these guys, unfortunaltly from the wrong kind of people mostly. people who wanted to split them up, or didn't have experience with them, but they have gone to what i am sure is an amazing new home on the 27.01.07, with a guy from london who also has three others, it was devasting to let them go, and getting them out for that last handle was heart breaking, but they will be happy and cared for and thats what matters most, he also had another infant so the baby will have (hopefully) a mate for when they are mature enough to breed, which is so important for this species , as i said i was devastated to let them go, and had a good old cry once they had left! missing them greatly, especially the midnight break outs which would wake us up at 3 am to the sound of their viv door being gently pushed open by the male... i shall have to busy myself with our other herps.. and we are gettin a tokay soon... so the pain of being bitten shall make me forget( forget the pain of giving them away, but NEVER the pleasure they gave us while we cared for them!!) sorry for a bit of a long post... but you know how it is to have to get rid of somthing you love...

Sorry to hear that. Why did you have to let them go?

I would be interested to know why you have to let them go when being able to take on a new Tokay?

mostly because of costs/space, electric ect. also there will be a baby (human) soon, and sadly with their tank, there is not enough room in the bedroom to fit a cot in, with the tokay, he can go into an exsisting viv, so he wont actually take any room up, plus he eats insects- we order them in bulk, cos of our leos, we have had a new vivarium set up designed with multiple sections, and by using heat cable( for the leos, and seperate heat cable for the snake) and actually thinking about the design, we have managed to get our running costs down by quite abit. we looked after a tokay awhile ago for a friend, and costs came to no where near as much as the skinks, also we have all the equipment/decor ect already, all we had to pay for was the gecko. if they had been a smaller species then we may have been able to keep them( when we bought them we had to throw a wardrobe out to get enough space to fit them in our room. ) we live with my boyfirends mother who is not a fan of reptiles(if any were to escape and she found them, she would probably stamp on them.. ), and there was no way she was going to let them into the front room or any where else in the house i would have kept them up at my mums house but she isn't home alot so they wouldn't get misted/feed enough...
