Wow, you're taking on a lot! Given that a few weeks ago you were unsure about the corn shedding, and when talking about setting up the corn said

it's a mini heat mat..
i followed the instructions on the packet and i hope it's ok.
i did research them a bit before so i know what im doing to an extent..

you're obvously not totally au fait with snakes, are you not terrified someone hands you a huge great retic, or a snappy anaconda or something?

just curious, dont take this the wrong way, but you're very young, and dont come across as being experienced in terms of snakes, it would terrify me, and am curious. Don't get me wrong, I think rescue is a wonderful thing, and wish anyone willing and able to do it all the best, it just seems like an awfully big undertaking . . .

by the sounds of things she is trying to start up her collection, other than the one corn she has
but all the best

Good luck with your venture..

Perhaps you could put up a website (there are free ones around) with some pictures of your enclosures an a bit of information about yourself and your experience.

Most rescues have a website so people can see pictures.

Also generally it upsets people a bit when people talk about rehoming permanently, because a rescue is something that usually rescues animals and gets them in good health (including vets fees which can be high!) and then offers them on to a good home so that they still have space.

When someone asks for reptiles to keep, it sometimes comes across as them looking for freebies or to start a collection without realising that the most likely things to come in will be huge burmese with terrible tempers and iguanas in bad health, with a LOT of associated vets bills etc.

So I think that a website with lots of pictures of your enclosures and your animals, a "mission statement" with some information about you, your experience, why you are doing this - what you are going to do when you run out of room - are you shutting down your rehoming then, or do you then offer animals to other people? Do you have a good local vet?

There are also a number of other registered rescue organisations on the forums who can offer you help and support

But you can't blame people for being skeptical because there are a LOT of posts here about "i wanna free snake" "will take all free snakes" "want any lizards, must be cheap or free!" etc... at the end of the day everyone here is only after the good for the reptiles so if you feel a bit grilled and questioned don't worry, it's for the right reasons.

I think it is a great thing that you wish to do....... BUT........... (sorry)

Have you taken on board the extra living costs etc of taking in unwanted reptiles etc. Do you have a vet who will maybe offer you rediced fees and such so that your care costs can be kept to a reasonable level (if there is such a thing in rescue!), have you spoken to your local council about maybe setting up as a legitimate rescue where you are licensed to do so on such a large scale. I know that isn't a necessity but it may help others to take you on board a little easier that them just seeing another person wanting to help.

It is a sad fact that 80% of advertisers for "rehome and rescue" centres are indeed just wishing to increase their own collection and do not realise in adviance whta they are taking on.

I wish you well in your venture and think it is admirable that you are willing to give up your own living space, time nad money to put something back into the hobby and should you need any help, I am sure there are plenty of enthusiasts that would be willing to offer guidance or anything else you may need.

Best of luck with it
