even if they don't cohabit,
shows it can be good with other reptiles around.
etc...

beautiful either way

the ackie in question has lived with beardies previously (a full group in fact) and has been 100% fine, they did for sometime share the viv and the ackie was not the problem it was my beardie.

and before ppl get up on their high horses research was done (before i even got him i might add) to where the distribution of ackies is in relation to other species and a very highly respected book was consulted on the prevision of inter species co-inhabiting.

if you look at the distribution of the ackie in australia it is very adaptable to different environments ranging from desert surrounds (ie beardie territory) to the forests of queensland. so all this about they dont like sand is a load of tosh, i offered the ackie sand and a sand/soil mix and he did not once go near the soil, prefered digging in the sand (granted when they are young this can cause irritation of the underbelly but on a fully grown ackie it is not an issue)

it is proven that inter-species can co-inhabit, its not the species that is the problem but the personality of the animals in question! gecko species can co-inhabit as other various species i have seen. they are both from the similar environments and at all times has access to their basic needs as should all animals.

if i didnt care about this animal i wouldnt be doing this and trying to find him a good home, i tried to see if my beardie would except him but unfortunately that wasnt looking to hopefully everytime i introduced them to each other (constantly supervised) so i made the decision to stop trying as said before the ackie was not the problem, the personality of my beardie was not willing to tolerate him whereas the colony he has lived with accepts him as their own and has no bother!

thing is you can slate me for this if you want, i dont care, the research was done and they were monitored at all times. i have met many people who have different species in cages with great success, unfortunately this is not one of them, theres even people on here that keep more than one snake etc (supposidly solitary animals) in one enclosure. as long as the research, time and effort is put into seeing if it can be done then i dont see the harm! cats and dogs generally dont get along where as in some instances they co-habit a household and seek each others company willing! this is no different!

and from what ive heard jinx there is someone coming to look at him tomorrow so fingers crossed he is well and truely one of a kind!
