Some people dont believe in chipping their tortoise as is may stress them out, most people don't do it unless they want to breed them and wait untill they are older.

Thanks sarah as I'm not keen to get him chipped...I think it's bloody cruel but obviously I understand about needs must etc. So as long as i don't intend to breed ET he is safe?!?!?!?!??! YAY! LOL Before i get lots of ppl giving me a hard time at the comments, remember it's just my view. I am NOT calling ppl cruel if they have got their torts chipped.

Hi Reptilerescueden, I also do not agree with "chipping" but if you want to register your Tort with DEFRA, breed, or sell certain Torts, you have to comply with the law. If your Tort gets lost or stolen and it is chipped, you can then prove that it is yours. So in your case there would be no need to get him chipped at this point in time, maybe something for the future to consider  ...T.T.
