Leaping Lizards-01904 422588

They are selling them a bit cheaper as they have quite a few so you might be able to get a good deal!

Hi Reptilerescueden, good luck with finding a female Hermanns, especially if your after an adult, they do not become available that often. To be honest though, male Torts are very aggressive to females, and by introducing a female to your male, could prove a burden for her, if they were going to be housed together. I keep my male on his own most of the time (because he is so relentless!!!) he only gets visiting rights with each of them. If you do house males and females together (for short periods) it should be at least 3 to 5 females to one male, and even then the females can become stressed, if they are not allowed to bask or feed freely...I take it that you already know that if you are offered a Tort that has a plastron length greater than 100mm, by law it has to be chipped...T.T.

Thanks for that TT. I didn't actually know about the 100mm rule though, so thanks alot for the info. But not i need to pick your brains LOL... My male I bought almost three years ago now and at the time wasn't chipped though I did get the paperwork from the pet shop, including his german passport so to speak. Sooooooooo now he's getting a very big boy do I have to get him chipped? If so where do I do and does it hurt? Can bear to think of my lil' guy being hurt.
