Only one of our 5 cf royals fed on their own. Just be patient. If you want we'll take him off your hands, we may have some hatchling corns in a couple of months you could have in exchange or if you're worried we can foster him for a few weeks and get him feeding. We have a couple of mice colonies so we can live feed if it gets bad, or show you how to assist feed?

In my experience, and it's not much, I wouldn't assist feed unless the snake refused live. Although I would think more than once if the snake was a bigger one and would need a bigger food item. Fluffs/pinks aren't going to hurt the hatchling.
I know it's not nice to do but assist feeding must be a lot more stressful for the hatchling????It worked for my little girl and she was down to 51grms.

What does your little one weigh? If he's a good weight he could go a little bit longer than the 4 weeks I left mine.

Before giving him away try the many options available to you.
I am trying to get my boy onto fuzzys but he is having none of it. Even brained and left in his tub overnight he just looks at it.

However when I stick a pinky in he zaps it within 30 secs.

Different strokes for different blokes.
I would try something different every couple of days until you find whatever tickles his/her fancy. Just try not to stress it, leave it alone and let it get on with it and try not to worry too much.
At this stage you shouldnt be handling your snake at all apart from when cleaning out the viv.

i was just reading back, and...

i know you are worried,

but that poor little snake only came to you on the 22nd of march, or at least you said on the 20th that it was coming in two days time, on the tuesday

and it was sent by a dodgy method, labled as perishable good..

and you are worried that 8 days later it has not fed?

it way too soon.. way way too soon... it should have been left alone for the first week.. and tried for the first time last night, late on, with a warm fluff..

i think you are trying to do too much to the snake and much too soon, its only been with you 8 days !!!

Tried the royal last night with another fuzz. He didn't take it again. tried at night, i left the mouse in over night, but no luck. I went back in to cheak later on, that night, and he was out and about, but not interested in the mouse, lol.

Seriosuly leave it alone TOTALLY for a week, full SEVEN days, change water if neede if it aint dirty leave it and then put a fluff thats wamred right up in it's hide where it probably is, turn off the light in that room ,go into another and just leave.

If you offer food too frequently when it's as stressed as it is it won't eat it'll just associate food with yet more stress, snakes are veyr imprint feeders especially royals, 1 bad feed will imprint food = stress.
