Can i just verify im not saying this about anyone on the forum. Someone today seemed to think it was aimed at them and it certainly is not. I know ppl i've spoken to have very good reasons for having to get rid of theirs. I'm talking about others on classifieds on other sites that are obviously struggling to tame and didnt realise the rate of growth etc.

I was gonna say something, but pretty much everything was already said.

Personally I'd not buy animals in an auction.

BTW, I'd rather rehome than buy, trouble is there are some snakes I'm after I'll never find in rehoming organisations, but I've already rehomed 2 corn snakes and a cat in the past, and would always try to give these animals a second chance than buying one in the shop.

auctioning animals....doesn't that remind you of the slave trade!!!!
good points all ready made so far, i get real mad when people who have obviously made a mistake with a pet (iggies, boscs, large snakes, etc) and then try to recoup their money rather than thinking about the welfare of the animal they bought. don't register to this site as the more members they have the more support they will appear to have.
thats my rant over anyway.

i think thats a little harsh. The site might be a really well organised site. I think it would be good if the moderator could speak to people joining an ensure they are suitable to bid before they get access to the auctioning bit.

I have to agree with blazey if its moderated it may be a good site, I know if I see something I like I will probably bid and if I win it will come to a very good home for life.

Moderators still don't know who is using the site and their capabilities. Anyone can bid, anyone can win. It is down to the seller to take responsibility for who claims their reptile, but if the sums of money get far higher, are they really going to put the welfare of the animal they are selling as top priority?
