Auction as in the highest bidder "wins"? There was a discussion about this somewhere, not surprisingly most people were against auctioning animals. Not exactly the best way of ensuring a good owner gets the reps.

completly agree with kat on this one. auctioning reptiles is about the most irresponsible thing possible to do. they are living creatures and should not go to the person with the most money to spend they should go to the person who can best look after them.

yep i agree. only thing im not so against is when farmers auction their livestock. Most farmers take good care of the animals as its for meat and produce anyway so they're out to make money from them and obviously dont want to lose money.

thats true ace, how do u know who's bidding, it could end up like ebay, with irresponsible kids bidding stupid ammounts then not paying. it could all get a little out of hand. at least on here you can name a price and pick from whoever is interested. i wouldn't want anything i sell to go to a kid with a whim.

A classifieds wouldve been a better idea rather than an auction. my mums always looking at a reptile classifieds and i cant find where it is but its evry simple text and plain background. anyone know what that is?

Sorry but how can you auction an animal?? Its wrong. You should sell the animal to a good home rather than one who gives you the most money. How do youknow the reptile is going to a good home? You don't.

I'm affraid I'm going to have to agree with everyone on this.. Blazey made a valid point about farmers though so not all animal auctions are a bad thing.
