yeah still friends

my sis use it ok, she is no expert, and you can tell alot of what has been done. wasnt suggesting that any one could use it, my step mum is real good with it and she teaches and shows her things....

like you said photoshop is an extension of camera skills, not the actual camera skill itself. i know you have to get the content in the picture to start with and IMO that is probably the hardest bit, but photoshop can help a fair bit if you only just catch it or there are blurs ect...

i done a photography course whilst in the 6th form(very luck my school had facilitys) and we was shown how to manipulate things in the dark room, however that is alot harder than doing it using photoshop, dont get a second chance in the darkroom.

like i say this is all just my opinion.

Just to make a point...

And I hope I have not upset anyone by making use of the loverly lion pic.

All I have done in photoshop, is use auto contrast, sharpen, and despeckle...much what i do to my own photos.

Although, I do not use the contrast all the time...As you can see (in this instance) there is not a lot of difference between the 2 pics...But which is which?!...T.T.

Again...

Look at my pic of my hatching tort, from last months comp. It was pointed out to be less than perfect (technically) which I would also agree with...

So I used the despeckle filter (photoshop) on the 2nd pic down, to try and better the original photo that was used, again not much difference, but I think the 2nd pic down appears improved on the original?...Well, the tort looks better, but the sand has lost that sharpness...T.T.

I think this is a great image no matter what and the quality isn't bad by any standards, however the edits in the 2nd pic give a greater depth of field and makes the wee tort stand out more. You could probably sell this pic to a herp magazine, worth a shot for a few bucks.
