There are some amazing pics in there

I agree whith the potential for it to become biased based on friendships or maybe if you know someone know "needs" the prize or someone who helps them out a lot... its natural.

It being annoymous is the only way to avoid conflict and keep it fun in the long run.

Also, i think there should maybe be a restriction on who can enter based on activity just because there are prizes involved. Loads of different forums i use, not just reps one, may have a competition and people always get pissed when "Mr X" with 1 post scoops the prize.

Also, now i'm off and running

, i think it was a bad idea to have a "100% general" for the subject. Its too vague and i have no idea how you could possibly pic a winner based on the fact that many are "the best" for different reasons... the cutest, the rarest shot, the funniest, the most threatening looking etc. You could have given it a subject but still included all reps...

Lets not panic too soon

this picture competition is all about a bit of fun and showing off your 'cool' pictures.

We made a general one for the first one so everyone can have a go, there would have been a lot of unhappy campers if we had made the first one for say Snakes only.

Basically, we have thought it through (supprisingly) and I assure you we will make it as fair as we can in future competitions so that keepers off all different exotics have a good shot at wining. Obviously we can not cater for ALL in the first comp. I think it was a fair comment by someone earlier that a snake or lizard picture might win this first comp, but this actualy wasnt the case in the first competition we held back in 2006 a tortoise (hatching) picture won... why? because it was an amazing picture.

I think all the pics posted so far are great and I'm really enjoying checking out the new ones when I log in. I'm sure the mods will make sure it's judged fairly and at the end of the day, like t-bo said, it's all about the fun of taking part and showing of 'cool' pics that should be the most important thing - no prize is as important as the pride we have in our reps and this is a lovely opportunity to show them off.

awww theres some brilliant pics in here,well done all,im embarressed by mine now,i dont envy the one who has to choose as theres lots of winners as far as im concerned
