In all honesty I don't think I'm going to even bother entering a pic until i have a £500+ camera. Otherwise its pointless...
I dont want to come across as boring or anything but it just seems pointless. I find you are competing against professional photographors, maybe not professional but extremely good ones with very expensive cameras. Do you thing it's worth competing with this?

if you have an eye for a good picture or composition then its possible to take a very good photo with most camera's all the expensive ones do is make it slightley easier and do some of the more difficult bits for you, never give up on anything that you enjoy doing simply because you can't afford the more expensive items

To be honest I think many photos making it into the finals are there because of the moment caught, not down to expensive equipment and even if you have expensive equipment it certainly does not make you a good photographer. Does owning expensive paints and paper make you a great artist?
