Default Red Eared Slider Needs a New home

I have a red eared slider, think its a he, is around 12 months old and is about 6 inches long.

He is very alert, always swims to the front of the tank when I get close.

I am selling as my set up is just too small for him.

He is also following round what I think is a female map and 'vibrating' his claws over her face, so seems that he is ready to mate.

any more questions please do not hessitate to ask, would prefer a swap, am open to offers.

If it's only 12 months old there's no way "he" is getting ready to mate, not for a few years yet, you can't even tell it's definitely a male at this age, 6" is a bit big for one year though, are you sure it's not older than that?

How long have you had it, did you not realise when you got it that it was going to grow too big for your setup?

Do you have some pix of it, and where are you?

I do know how big they get, to be honest I got him at this size, maybe slightly smaller, the age was an estimate from the previous owner. He isnt too big for my set up at the moment, and he should be fine until he starts getting over 6 inches.

I took him on as he was in a plastic tub that mesured no more than 12 inches across by 6 inches, I couldnt leave him there to suffer.

In terms of sex im not sure, he/she is folowing round what I believe to be a female map and 'vibratiing' his claws across her face, I know this could be either a mating ruitual or a dominance thing.

In terms of swapping, I would preferably be looking for cresties or corns, could also consider map turtles.

I will work on getting a picture up, they are in my other PC which isnt working at the moment, but will see what I can do.

It would really help to know where you are, I know people who could be interested in a RES but they won't want to travel too far to pick one up.
