Default English Captive Bred Hermans with Defra cert ect-New home needed

Hiya ,
I'm new here n this is possibly not the best way to introduce myself.
because ,sadly i am looking for a new home for Zac.
little captive bred Hermans, bred in Ross on wye...yes he's English

hatched Aug 05 i believe, will go and check his defra cert now and confirm that date is correct.

Looking for the right home for Zac as i dont like rehoming animals,i believe they are for life not just for christmas.
But there is a very sad story behind Zac and hence why i need to sell him

my little girl has always been mad about tortys...always wanted one.and saved, damned hard to get one.
She was 8 at the time and obviously i sat her down and explained the lifelong commitment she was about to make.
She fully understood.
Using 3 years birthday and christmas money this kid was sold speedy..a so say hermans,so say healthy n so say english...what utter rubbish!
but it wasnt until he started showing signs of ill health that we discovered the harsh nasty reality involved in reptile sales/breeding.
After lots of tests n time at the vets we discovered not only was speedy NOT a hermans, his defra cert did NOT match him,he was illegally imported and very unwell
He had Cryptosparidiam (sorry bad spelling)
and yes,he died
Rip little man

My daughter was devastated,it truley broke her heart and upset me that she was so upset.
Very sore subject for Becky.

eventually i found Zac,English, captive bred not far from me so i could go meet his breeders, see their set up ect ect.
All was well so i bought him.
thinking this would help ease becs pain.
bought complete new set up and everything.
but it didnt,it made it worse
she missed speedy and still does (god i despise that man in st athens for hurting my little girl)

She has never really managed to bond with Zac,hence i've looked after him but i'm not passionate about Tortys,i'm a dog lover.

I sat Bec down the other night n we had tears
we've both agreed that zac probably needs/deserves to go to a new home where there is no torty sadness.
with an owner who's life revolves around their animals.
mine does and therefore i feel bad advertising him for sale, but english captive bred tortys are hard to find and i know somebody out there somewhere would adore zac given the chance.

He's healthy, lively, eats well and has a wikked caracter..he's been well looked after but he's not speedy

this is a sad moment for us.
but hopefully a happy one for somebody else.

please feel free to ask any questions.

thanks,
jo

Am not a tort keeper so couln't help with housing Zac but just wanted to say how sweet your thread is.

You are obviouslt a responsible keeper and a loving parent to go to such lengths to ensure the health and care of your tort and the emotional wellbeing of your little girl.

I sure hope a fantastic home comes up really soon for you and that your little girl will eventually return to the hobby with a new found passion
