Default Looking for a tortoise.

As cheap as possible really. My sister want's one, and I was going to try and buy her one. She doesn't care on the species. Anything taken into account?

All different species have different needs though

red foots get large and are tropical tortoises
horsfields love to dig
Stars very delicate and need high temps

Best starter tortoises are ibera, hermann, horsfields and marginated

Please please get your sister to research what she wants and if she can cater for their needs.

This is not like buying a dog or a cat if looked after properly they can live over 100 years.

I understand that. I've got a couple of turtles, and I did loads of reseatch first.

What I'm looking for is the cost and type, so she can research that type before buying it.
