Smile wanted male leopard.

hiya im after a male leopard to keep mine company, i think she's female well she has the small tail, lol. im unsure of the age, she's 16cm x 16cm if you measure the shell from the top to tail. the person who has her before wasnt loking after her correctly. i know the pet shop she came from before them. cheers.

hi,cant help you find one but i read in the care sheets for leopards that they are solitary animals and are quite happy on there own.just in case you felt you needed to get another just for company.

you can not reliably sex a leopard until they are about 9 inches, so getting a male now may mean that in the future you will have 2 males, but the good thing is that male leopards do not fight like other species.

if they are to be kept together you would need more females to males as the male will harrass the female constantly which can result in stress,so 2-3 females to one male is recommended unless you can keep them seperate.

leopard tortoises are all a bit wary of people. mine are terribly shy and if they see a new person in the garden they go back in the greenhouse! It has taken me two years to be able to check there mouths and skin around their head without them pulling in and STAYING in....they are not the bravest of species. sulcattas are a much more inquisitive species and dont seem the slightest bit put out by human attention.

so they are no good for guarding the house then...... lol
well a friend of mine had the red foot from the same place and as soon as she got it back it was so lively he runs around, eats loads, isnt shy.... basically the exact opposite to mine, i keep trying to get her to swap me.. but she wont. , so i might need to swap for a less shyer species, you see ive always wanted a tortoise but i like the more lively reptiles... lizards.

i dont know what to do know.. i dont know whether to swap for another one or just stick to my lizards.

i mean tortoises are really cute i suppose if i had one that was a bit more active then i would be ok, but i feel sorry for this little one, you sort of feel like you throwing them out cause they aint good enough. poor lil thing.
