Default 2x Mississippi Maps free to good home.

Hiya,

I have 2 Mississippi Map Turtles, which I am offering freely to a good home.
Genders unknown. Both healthy. I do not know their exact hatch date, nor have ref to their year but I imagine they are 2-4 years. Eating fine.
Can get shell length for anyone seriously interested.

New owner must provide their own aquarium. The one I have them in currently - though meets their needs - is not really ideal. These animals should be given more than the considered minimum.

Would prefer if they go local. I cannot deliver so they must be picked up by either the new owner or by a select reptiles courier.
RepTaxi/PetWheels/Gremlins.

(Picture taken last year when I took over care of them)

I wouldn't know if they were indeed Mississippi Maps myself. I'm not into turtles really. I took them on while the owners were moving and didn't really want them themselves. However I've had at least two folk, quite well known themselves who obviously know their stuff and they haven't disagreed with the title.

hey.
can you tell me their sizes please. also what are they like temprament wise? my mum has been wanting turtles for a while and has space to them now. can their setup come with them so that we have something to house them in temp while we upgrade them? also is it possible to come see them before deciding 100%on taking them?

Hiya,

I was actually ment to get carapace lengths for someone else! Thanks for reminding me! I don't have them right now but I'll post them tomorrow.
Temp wise they are pretty shy. I don't really think any Turtles are for handing, so I'm not sure how to answer that question. I only ever pick them up when I need to clean.
Setup won't be available no. I'd rather the new owners have a setup prepaired.
However I'd be happy to be around for a viewing should prospective owners be willing (and have a setup).

okies thats cool.
i wanted to know the temprament simply because i have met some turtles that will actively hunt you out if you are doing anything in or near their home and try and have a go.
we would definatly want to have a look at them. what size of tank will they need?

From that photo I'd say they were False Maps, not Mississippi.
